Monday 10th November – SCR Michaelmas Dinner and Talk
Guest Speaker – Dr Wilf Wilde – ‘The Imperial News we don’t get: From Libya to Syria via Ukraine and Iraq’
18.45 – Drinks Reception, Lakeside Room; 19.30 – Guest Speaker; 20.00 – Dinner

The talk will commence at 18.00 in the Ustinov Room and is open to all, with the reception and dinner taking place afterwards for those who have rsvp-ed.
Wednesday 12th November – SCR Buffet Lunch
13.00 – Lakeside Room. Please sign up by 11am on Tuesday 11th November at Van Mildert Reception (0191 334 7100)
Thursday 13th November – Travel Bursary Presentation Evening
20.00 – Ustinov Room. Travel bursary presentations are given by students from Van Mildert College who have been in receipt of a Travel Bursary Award from College and alumni members.
Come along and enjoy VM Variety (formerly Cabaret) – a showcase of music, dance and entertainment provided by the JCR
This will take place in the Ann Dobson Hall on Sunday, November 16 and will follow a pre-show drinks reception in the Prowse Room from 7.30 p.m.
Members of the SCR and their guests are welcome to attend – ticket prices for the show will be in the region of £2/3, payable on the night.

SCR Children’s Christmas Party – Saturday, December 6
This annual and long-standing event will take place in the Ann Dobson Hall between 2.15 p.m. and 4 p.m.
It is open to the children and grandchildren of members of the SCR and College staff – children must be 8 years or under and must be accompanied by parent/grandparent. There will be a party tea and a visit from Santa. Games and activities will be provided by members of the JCR Primary School Project.

Christmas Reception, Carols by Candlelight, JRC Pantomime
These events will be taking place on Sunday, December 7, starting with the drinks reception in the Prowse Room at 6.30 p.m. followed by Carols By Candlelight in the Ann Dobson Hall at 7 p.m. and the pantomime at 8.30 p.m.
