Dear SCR members,
We hope you are all well and able to enjoy the summer. Thanks very much to everyone who contributed so generously to Dave and Maureen’s leaving gifts which we gave to them at a super farewell event on 10 July. It was great also to see many of you in person at the event. We thought those of you unable to attend would like to know how we spent your contributions on your behalf!
We were able to buy a stylish George Jensen bowl, lovely whisky decanter and glasses and a very nice bottle of Danish whisky, and a bottle of red wine, together with a generous National Garden gift card. Dave and Maureen were very pleased with these gifts.
Once again we thank them for all they’ve done whilst at Van Mildert and wish them both all the very best for their new life post Durham.
We’ll be in contact again later in the summer with information on our activities for Michaelmas Term. In the meantime, we wish you an enjoyable summer break!
