Mildert and Trevelyan Book Group
We are a small group of enthusiastic readers who meet monthly (Monday evenings at 7.15pm) to enjoy sharing views about a wide variety of books. Currently chosen by group member recommendation, the titles can be anything from the latest Booker Prizewinner to the “Queen of Kindle”. Recent discussions have included novels in various genres; historical (Disraeli’s political satire, Sybil), horror (A M Hurley’s The Loney) and crime (The Devil and the Dark Water, Stuart Turton’s second novel) as well as autobiography and non-fiction titles.
Though we generally meet in person in the college, post covid we also offer the opportunity to join in remotely via Zoom.
As an added “bonus” we also get to sample various literary bakes! So whether you fancy a slice of the “Tart of Darkness” or delving into the “Strange Cake of Dr Jelly & Mr H’Ice Cream”, if you have a liking for lit (and a weakness for cake) why not join us?
Contact Kathryn at [email protected] or keep an eye on SCR Events.
