‘Mamma Mia’ – this year’s JCR 48-hour Musical!
You are warmly invited to join SCR and MCR members in a pre-show gathering in the Prowse Room on Tuesday, June 12, between 7.15 p.m. and 8 p.m. Enjoy a glass of wine or soft drink before moving to the Ann Dobson Hall for the 2012 JCR 48-hour musical, “Mamma Mia!”
Although auditions were held before exams began, all rehearsals take place in the 48 hours preceding the show. Putting on a show in that short space of time is testament to the enthusiasm and commitment of Van Mildert students whether they be actors, singers, dancers, musicians, producers, directors, technicians, designers or skilled in all the other jobs which will need doing! If past performances are anything to judge by, we can look forward to an evening of “Super Troupers” and “Dancing Queens” which will surely leave us saying “Thank You For The Music”! Dr Catherine Fletcher of the Department of History will give a talk entitled ‘Our Men in Rome: On the trail of Henry VIII’s ambassadors’.
