Saturday 28th (19:30) and Sunday 29th May (17:30), Holy Cross Chapel, Durham Cathedral: Songs of the Viennese Period, for guitar and voice.
Robin Thodey and Deryck Webb, will give a concert of Songs of the Viennese Period, for guitar and voice. This will be an authentic performance of how the songs would have sounded when the composers wrote them. The guitar is made by Roudhloff, no. 86, which is dated at around 1840. This is a concert not to be missed for those who love the delicate music of this genre and period. The concert is in aid of the Durham Cathedral Choristers’ Bursary Funding Scheme. Thursday 2nd June at University College: Inter-SCR black tie dinner.
University College has invited Van Mildert Senior Common Room to an inter-SCR black tie dinner. The evening will include a drinks reception in the Tunstall Gallery from 6.15pm, followed by a three-course dinner in the Great Hall.
Deadline for registration and communication of dietary requirements is 5pm on Wednesday 25th May. To reserve a place, please email Van Mildert SCR Secretary.
Friday 3rd June, Durham Cathedral: An Evening with Shakespeare – Music inspired by the Bard, opening night of the ‘Festival of the Arts’.

Sunday 5th June: SCR Walk.
Our next walk will take place in Weardale covering ca. 7 miles, followed by lunch. Full details of the walk will be circulated to members in due course, but it would be great to receive an initial idea of interest. Please email [email protected] to sign up.
Participants should prepare appropriately for the prevailing conditions, including suitable clothing and equipment.
Transportation is available in a minibus (by prior arrangement only).
Interested participants are welcome to contact the SCR Events Co-ordinator for further information about the walk. Places should be booked no later than Monday 23 May 2016.
