Pitch Productions presents ‘Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)’ by Ann-Marie Macdonald.
In this playful comedy – an original revision of Shakespeare’s Othello and Romeo and Juliet – we follow day-dreaming academic Constance Ledbelly through sword fights, seductions and cross-dressing shenanigans. Torn between the fiery Desdemona and the love-struck Juliet, Constance bumbles through two of the Bard’s’ most famous tragedies in search of a joker…and herself.

Saturday 28th (19:30) and Sunday 29th May (17:30), Holy Cross Chapel, Durham Cathedral: Songs of the Viennese Period, for guitar and voice.
Robin Thodey and Deryck Webb, will give a concert of Songs of the Viennese Period, for guitar and voice. This will be an authentic performance of how the songs would have sounded when the composers wrote them. The guitar is made by Roudhloff, no. 86, which is dated at around 1840. This is a concert not to be missed for those who love the delicate music of this genre and period. The concert is in aid of the Durham Cathedral Choristers’ Bursary Funding Scheme.
